Cancer Prevention
Many articles will be available on cancer prevention on this website. For now, here are some very important strategies to lower the risk of cancer. These are dietary choices and other lifestyle factors are equally important. Stress reduction may be the most important non-diet factor for reducing cancer risk.
Here is a list of dietary choices that may reduce cancer risk:
1) Limit or avoid all animal products including dairy and eggs.
2) Limit or avoid all processed foods
3) Eat as high a percentage as possible of raw organically grown fruits and vegetables
4) Eat a large quantity of berries
5) Limit all cooked foods
6) Avoid all fried foods
7) Supplement with selenium, iodine and vitamin D
8) Do not be overly concerned with protein intake. Protein needs for an adult are greatly overstated. The average adult needs no more than 10-20 grams. Fruits and vegetables will fill the protein requirements without eating concentrated proteins
such as tofu, nuts, seeds and supplements.
Top Cancer Fighting Foods
Pineapple, Papaya, Mango and Kiwi
These fruits contain powerful proteolytic enzymes that lower inflammation and can dissolve fibrin. Cancer cells hide from the immune system through the formation of a thick protein layer surrounding the outer cell membrane. The thick protein layer is formed from fibrin and albumin.
Most fruits are low on the glycemic index and will not cause blood glucose spikes if consumed whole and fresh. Highly processed fruit juices will spike blood glucose and should be avoided. Consuming fruit will not fuel tumor growth. Protein fuels and stimulates tumor growth more than any other macronutrient.
